A first trip to Bali is unforgettable. The island combines breathtaking landscapes, deep traditions, and warm hospitality. From the famous temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu to the lush rice terraces of Tegallalang, every place reveals a unique story.
But Bali is more than its sights. Stroll through vibrant local markets, taste authentic dishes, or simply relax by the sea and watch the sunset. Venture inland to discover traditional villages and the island’s spiritual heart.

Apart from temples, I would recommend visiting a local museum, like the Neka Art Museum or Museum Gedong Arca in Bedulu. They give real context to Balinese culture and history.

A visit to Uluwatu Temple at sunset is a must. It’s iconic and easy to combine with dinner or a beach club afterward.

If you’re staying in Sanur with kids, don’t miss the Bali Turtle Conservation and Education Center or a bike ride along the beach path. Both are fun and educational.

A road trip around the island. I did a full loop once, and the mix of beaches, cliffs and mountain areas is incredible.

I think they should not miss a simple walk in the nature. Many people run from one tourist spot to another, but Bali’s beauty is also in the little things — the sound of water, the ceremonies, the small temples on the road.

They shouldn’t miss exploring at least one hidden beach in the south. Places like Uluwatu or Bingin are beautiful, but discovering a lesser-known spot makes the trip unforgettable.

I always recommend visiting at least one place outside the busy tourist zones. A day trip to Sidemen gives a perfect impression of Bali’s natural beauty, traditional villages, and peaceful lifestyle.
