GENERAL INFORMATION
Please, take notice about of the following regulations before you enter the Republic of Indonesia.

It’s very important to know the regulations applied by the Law and Human Rights Department of the Republic of Indonesia. In this case by the Indonesian Immigration Department. Also know the steps to be taken to avoid any problems:

FIRST STEP – YOUR PASSPORT
Important notes are:

• Time between expiration date of the passport, and the return date, can not be less than 6 months.
• You need to be in possession of a return ticket
• Not on any blacklist of any government.

SECOND STEP - Nationality
Before entering the Republic of Indonesia Region you must know the legal immigration laws, given by the government of the Republic of Indonesia to every foreign visitor according to its nationality. To know which visa you have to apply for, check which applications you have to obtain from your country of citizenship.

THESE COUNTRIES GET A SHORT VISIT PASS

Decree of the President of Republic of Indonesia number: 103 on 2003 about change to decree of president number: 18 on 2003 about short visit pass, the following countries get the short visit pass:

1. Brunei Darussalam
2. Chili
3. Hong Kong Special Administration Region (Hong Kong SAR)
4. Macao Special Administration Region (Macao SAR)
5. Malaysia
6. Morocco
7. Peru
8. Philippines
9. Singapore
10.Thailand
11.Vietnam

Citizens from the countries above are urged to get a short visit pass (BVKS) with the duration of stay in Indonesia during 30 (thirty) days.

In case of a natural disaster, accident or sickness, a short visit pass can be extended after the minister’s approval.

A short visit pass cannot be switched into another immigration permit.

Legal fundamental:
Decree of the minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number: M.0Z – IZ.01 10 on 2007 about change eighth to decision of the minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number: M.04- IZ.01. on 2003, countries getting a Visa on Arrival are the following 63 countries:

THIRD STEP - Duration of Stay

The duration of visiting the Republic of Indonesia can be classified into 4 types:

1. Less than 07 days:
US$ 10 for subject Visa on Arrival
Counting of day in regulation of immigration that is counted 1(one) day from the date as described at arrival stamp. For example: you will live in Indonesia during 7 days, at the time of you arrival at Indonesia on 7 August hence you must leave Indonesia on 13 August.

2. Less than 30 days:
US$ 25 for subject Visa on Arrival
Counting of day in regulation of immigration that is counted 1(one) day from the date as described at arrival stamp. For example: you will live in Indonesia during 30 days, at the time of you arrival at Indonesia on 7 August you must leave Indonesia on 05 September.

3. Less than 60 days:
• If you wish to live in Indonesia up to 60 days, you can apply for a visa at your local embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.
• Application of the visa can be done with or without a sponsor.

More than 60 days:
You have to apply for a visa with a sponsorship and also apply at your local embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.
For those who want to come and stay more than 60 days, it is recommended that they apply for a visa at the Republic of Indonesia Representative Office, depending on the intention, and what activities they will do during their stay in Indonesia. In addition, there must be a sponsor. In order to obtain this visa the following steps has to been followed:

1. Application of the visa can be submitted to the General Directorate of Immigration at Jakarta in this case you will get a Visa Telex that will be delivered to the nearest Indonesian Embassy. The Visa will be given according to the contents of this visa telex.
2. Application of the visa can done by directly visit the Indonesian Embassy

INDEX VISA RELEASED BY KBRI (INDONESIAN EMBASSY):

• INDEX VISA B.211
This visa type of B.211 released by the Republic of Indonesia Representative Office is granted, if the intention of the visit to Indonesia is: holiday / friend visit / family / culture exchange. This type of visa can be extended at the Immigration Office, which is a regional procedure and is covering the stay in Indonesia.

• INDEX VISA B.212
Visa type of B.212 released by the Republic of Indonesia Representation Office is granted, if the intention of the visit to Indonesia is for business, export and import purposes. This type of visa type can be extended at the Immigration office, which is a regional procedure and is covering the stay in Indonesia.

• INDEX VISA D.212
Visa type of D.212 released by the Republic of Indonesia Representation Office is granted, if the intention of the visit to Indonesia is to arrange business or export/import (not to work). The visa is valid for 1 year. A maximum stay in Indonesia is straight 60 days, after that you must exit the country and reenter Indonesia again, you can do this before the visa expires in a year.

• INDEX VISA C.312
Visa type of C.312 will be released by the Republic of Indonesia Representative Office if the intention of the visit to Indonesia is to work, gather together with float equipment (ship) operating in Indonesia.
When entering the Region of Indonesia Republic a stamp will be given by an Immigration Officer for 60 days (B.211 / B.212). With this stamp you can stay in Indonesia for a maximum of 60 days counted from first day of arriving.
To stay longer than 60 days this Visa can be extended per month with a maximum of 4 times, at an immigration office close to the visitor. You can extend this way till the maximum duration time of six months is reached.

Special for Index Visa D.212 (expired time of visa is 1 year)
An Immigration Officer will give you a stamp, which ensures you an uninterruptible stay of maximum 60 days in Indonesia to conduct business activity, after 60 days you must exit the Republic of Indonesia and reenter it again, This can only be done till the expiration date of the visa.

Special for Index Visa C.312
An Immigration Officer will give you a stamp of admission for 7 days. YOU MUST REPORT to the Immigration office within 7 days after arrival, after reporting the Immigration Officer can process the KITAS.

INDONESIA VISA SERVICE & VISA EXTENSION

VISA ON ARRIVAL

How to Obtain the "Visa on Arrival" (VoA)
Travelers from the above countries must be in possession of a passport, which is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival and the completed embarkation/disembarkation card they received from their airline. They must also be able to prove they have sufficient funds for their stay in Indonesia.
Arriving travelers with Visa-On-Arrival status have to go first to one of the 'VoA Counters' to pay the appropriate fee and have their passports stamped with the VoA before proceeding to the Immigration Clearance Desk. An official bank is part of the VoA service counters. Payment of visa fees can only be made in US dollar bank notes, Indonesian Rupiah equivalent or by VISA or MASTERCARD.

VISA BEFORE ARRIVAL

Requirement of a “Visa before Arrival” (VbA)
Citizens of countries neither on the VoA nor Visa-Free lists are required to apply for a visa overseas before traveling to Indonesia. Nationals of ALL countries planning to stay for more than 30 days in Indonesia also have to apply for the appropriate visa (tourist, business, social-cultural, etc.) at an overseas Indonesian Consulate or Foreign Mission before traveling to Indonesia.

Only this visa can be extended per month by the immigration office till a maximum of 6 months.
SOCIAL & CULTURE VISA

This visa can be obtained by foreign visitors who wants to stay in Bali / Indonesia, to visit friends of family. A sponsorship from an Indonesian citizen is required.

The Indonesian sponsor needs to supply the following documents to process your Social Visa:

1. Copy of Sponsor’s Identity Card ( KTP )
2. Copy of Sponsor’s Family Register ( KK )
3. Application Letters signed by the Indonesian sponsor.
4. Copy of the sponsor’s Bank Account statement
(Minimal Rp. 2.500.000,-)

Foreign visitor documents:
1. A Copy of Foreign visitor’s Passport
2. Passport sized photographs with red background
3. 4 x 6 = 4 pcs
4. 3 x 4 = 4 pcs
5. 2 x 3 = 4 pcs

Conditions:
• Valid for a maximum of six months
• Free stay in Indonesia for sixty days from the date above the arrival stamp in your passport.
• One week before the visa expires, we will pick up the passport and extend this visa.
• After sixty days it will be monthly extended until a total of six months for staying in Indonesia.

SINGLE BUSINESS VISA
For foreign visitors who want to stay in Bali–Indonesia for business purposes. THIS VISA CAN NOT BE USED FOR EMPLOYMENT PURPOSES, with other words; this Visa cannot be used for working in Bali. A sponsorship from an Indonesian based Company is necessary to obtain this visa.

The Indonesian company sponsor needs to supply the following documents to process the Single Business Visa:
• A Copy of the Company’s Act
• A Copy of the Company’s Locality Letter
• A Copy of the Company’s Tax Number License ( NPWP )
• A Copy of the Company’s License Letter ( SIUP )
• A Copy of the Director’s Identity Card ( KTP )
• Five Company Letter Heads singed by the Company Director and sealed with the Company Stamp.
• A Copy of Company’s Account of Bank minimal Rp 7.000.000,-

Foreign visitor’s documents:
• A Copy of Foreigner’s Passport
• A Resume /C.V.
• Passport sized photographs with red background:
• 4 x 6 = 4 pcs
• 3 x 4 = 4 pcs
• 2 x 3 = 4 pcs

Conditions:
- Valid for six months
- Free to stay in Indonesia for sixty days from the date that can be found above the arrival stamp in the passport.
- One week before the Visa will expire; we will pick up the passport and extend this visa.
- After sixty days it will be monthly extended until a total of six months for staying in Indonesia.

MULTIPLE SOCIAL VISA
For male foreign visitors, with the intention of staying and marrying a Balinese /Indonesian spouse.
A sponsorship is needed from the Indonesian spouse.

The Indonesian spouse needs to supply the following documents to process a Multiple Social Visa:
• A Copy of the Marriage Certificate
• A Copy of the Identity Card ( KTP )
• A Copy of the Family Register ( KK )
• Five Letters of apply, singed by an Indonesian wife
• A Copy of the Bank account, minimal Rp 5.000.000,-

Foreign visitor documents:
• A Copy of Foreign visitor’s Passport
• A copy of Resume/ C.V.
• Passport sized photographs with red background:
o 4 x 6 = 4 pcs
o 3 x 4 = 4 pcs
o 2 x 3 = 4 pcs

Condition:
- Valid for one year
- Free to stay in Bali for 60 days from the date that can be found above the arrival stamp in the passport.
- After 60 days foreign visitors should leave Indonesia territory and reenter to Indonesia until the validity of the visa expires.
- This Visa can not be extended at Immigration office in Indonesia.

MULTIPLE ENTRY BUSINESS VISA
For Foreign visitors who want to stay in Bali / Indonesia for the business purposes but also want to travel in and out of Indonesia during validity of this Visa. THIS VISA IS NOT FOR EMPLOYMENT PURPOSES, with other words this Visa can not be used for working in Bali. A sponsorship is needed from an in Indonesia based Company.

The Indonesian company sponsor needs to supply the following documents to process a Multiple Business Visa:
• A Copy of the Company’s Act
• A Copy of the Company’s Locality Letter
• A Copy of the Company’s Tax Number License ( NPWP )
• A Copy of the Company’s License Letter ( SIUP )
• A Copy of the Director’s Identity Card ( KTP )
• Five Company Letter Heads singed by the Company Director and sealed with the Company Stamp.
• Copy of Company’s Account Bank Statement Minimal
Rp 7.000.000,-

Foreigner Data:
• Copy Foreign visitor’s Passport
• Resume/ C.V.
• Passport sized photographs with red background:

Condition:
- Validity for one year
- Free to stay in Bali for 60 days from the date that can be found above the arrival stamp in your passport
- After sixty days the foreign visitor should leave Indonesia territory and reenter to Indonesia until the validity of the visa is expired
- This Visa can not be extended in Immigration office in Indonesia

KITAS (WORKING PERMIT)

For Foreigner who want to stay and work in Bali – Indonesia. A sponsorship is needed from an Indonesia based Company

The Indonesian company sponsor you needs to supply the following documents to process the KITAS:
• Copy of the Company’s Act
• Copy of the Company’s Locality Letter
• Copy of the Company’s Tax Number License ( NPWP )
• Copy of the Company’s License Letter ( SIUP )
• Organization structure of the Company’s
• Copy of the employee Contract ( for companies employing foreigner )
• Copy of the Director’s Identity Card ( KTP )
• Copy of the Report to the Labor Department adapted by UU No.17, 1981
• Copy of the Identity Card of an Indonesian Work Colleague
• 20 Company Letter Heads singed by the Company Director and sealed with the Company Stamp.
• A Copy of Company’s Bank Account statement at least
Rp 7.000.000,- available funds.

Foreign Visitor Documents:
• Copy of Foreigner’s Passport
• Curriculum Vitae and References
• Passport sized photographs with red background :
- 4 x 6 = 12 pcs
- 3 x 4 = 8 pcs
- 2 x 3 = 6 pcs

If the foreign visitor wants to take their family with them, the following documents should be supplied for processing the KITAS:
• Copy of the Foreigner’s passport
• Copy of the marriage certificate
• Copy of the children’s birth certificates
• Copy of the Family Register
• Passport sized photographs
- 4 x 6 = 12 pcs
- 3 x 4 = 4 pcs
- 2 x 3 = 4 pcs

Conditions:
- The Process can take up within 30 days
- Validity 01 year
- Can be extended every year until max. 5 years, then possible to apply for permanent stay permit (KITAP)
- Government Tax US$ 1.200
- When the process is finished the following documents will be received:
1. KITAS
2. Blue Book (Control Book from Immigration)
3. Yellow Book (Certificate from the police)
4. STM (Report Certificate from the police)
5. IKTA (working Permit)
To go abroad:
We have to process an ‘Exit Permit’:
- Single Exit Re-entry Permit for 03 months Rp 800.000,-
- Multiple Exit Re-entry Permit for 06 months Rp 1.500.000,-
- Exit Permit Only (if you finish your KITAS) Rp 1.000.000,-

Price: Rp 7.000.000,- + US$ 1.200,- / 1 Year

KITAS (Wife Married with Indonesian Husband)
For female foreign visitors who wants to stay in Bali / Indonesia and is married to a Balinese / Indonesian spouse. A sponsorship from your Indonesian husband is needed.

The Indonesian Spouse needs to supply the following documents to process this KITAS:
• A Copy of the Marriage Certificate
• A Copy of the Identity Card ( KTP )
• A Copy of the Family Register ( KK )
• A Application Letters, singed by the husband
• A Copy of Husband Bank Account (minimal Rp 2.500.000,- )

Foreigner Data:
• A Copy of Foreigner’s Passport
• Passport sized photographs with red background:
- 4 x 6 = 21 pcs
- 3 x 4 = 8 pcs
- 2 x 3 = 6 pcs

If a foreign visitor wants to take his/her family with them, the following documents should be supplied for processing the KITAS:
• A Copy of the Foreigner’s passport
• A Copy of the marriage certificate
• A Copy of the children’s birth certificates
• A Copy of the Family Register
• Passport sized photographs
- 4 x 6 = 4 pcs
- 3 x 4 = 4 pcs
- 2 x 3 = 4 pcs

Condition:
- The Process can take up within thirty (30) days
- Validity for a year
- Can be extended every year until the maximum of five years is reached, then possible to apply for permanent stay permit (KITAP)

- Any applicant who wishes to apply for a limited stay permit elderly visa and is married at that time must provide a copy of their marriage certificate
- A personal Guarantee Letter, Stating: To live and provide in an agreed accommodation in Indonesia ( Bali in particular ) with proof of receipt from the rental agreement. The mentioned accommodation must be located in an authorized tourist area and has private regulations.
- Employment Letter: An Indonesian citizen has to be employed for assistances kind of work, such as nursing, housekeeping or any other kind of assistances during the stay in Indonesia.
- Can be extended every year until max 5 years, then possible to apply for permanent stay permit (KITAP).
- Passport sized Photographs sized with red background
♣ 4 x 6 = 10 pcs
♣ 3 x 4 = 4 pcs
♣ 2 x 3 = 4 pcs

To go abroad
We have to process an Exit Permit:
- Single Exit Re-entry Permit for three (3) months Rp 800.000,-
- Multiple Exit Re-entry Permit for six (6) months Rp 1.500.000,-
- Exit Permit Only. If you’re reached your visa’s expiration date. Rp 1.000.000,-

Price: Rp 7.500.000,- / 1 Year

DUAL CITIZENSHIP FOR CHILDREN OF MIXED MARRIAGES
A. The child who was born on or after the 1 st of August 2006

The child who is born on or after the 1 st of August 2006 automatically becomes an Indonesian citizen. In that case according to the Indonesian Immigration law, the child can apply for a passport of the Republic of Indonesia; however the child must remain being registered at the Indonesia Immigration Office or Representative of the Republic of Indonesia abroad.

The parents /parent need to supply the following documents to process the passport:

A Photocopy of Birth Certificate.
A Photocopy of Marriage Certificate.
A Photocopy of child’s Foreign Passport (if he/she has a foreign passport)
Photographs with red background (4x6 = 4 pcs)

B. The child who was born before the 1 st of August 2006

The child who is born before the 1 st of August 2006 automatically becomes an Indonesian citizen, but the child can apply for Indonesian citizenship by registering. The application has to be written in Indonesian language.

The parent/parents need to supply the following documents to process the passport:
♣ A Photocopy of Birth Certificate that has ratified by official functionary.
♣ A Photocopy of Marriage Certificate.
♣ A Photocopy of ID card or Passport of child’s parents that is still valid and ratified by official functionary or representative of Republic of Indonesia.
♣ A Photocopy sized photographs with red background (4x6 = 4 pcs).

Besides there are some other documents that must applied when:

The parents are divorced: the child who is born from a valid marriage; must enclose photocopy of situation of Marriage Certificate and situation of Divorce Certificate.
One of the parent or both died: Situation of Death Certificate of the child’s parents ratified by official functionary or representative of Republic of Indonesia.
The child’s is adopted: Must enclose photocopy of citation of confession certificate or justice stipulating about child adoption ratified by official functionary.
The child’s is 17 years: Must enclose photocopy of Identity Card of foreigner’s citizen ratified by official functionary.
