GENERAL INFORMATION
Please, take notice about of the following regulations before you enter the Republic of Indonesia.
It’s very important to know the regulations applied by the Law and Human Rights Department of the Republic of Indonesia. In this case by the Indonesian Immigration Department. Also know the steps to be taken to avoid any problems:
FIRST STEP – YOUR PASSPORT
Important notes are:
• Time between expiration date of the passport, and the return date, can not be less than 6 months.
• You need to be in possession of a return ticket
• Not on any blacklist of any government.
SECOND STEP - Nationality
Before entering the Republic of Indonesia Region you must know the legal immigration laws, given by the government of the Republic of Indonesia to every foreign visitor according to its nationality. To know which visa you have to apply for, check which applications you have to obtain from your country of citizenship.
THESE COUNTRIES GET A SHORT VISIT PASS
Decree of the President of Republic of Indonesia number: 103 on 2003 about change to decree of president number: 18 on 2003 about short visit pass, the following countries get the short visit pass:

Citizens from the countries above are urged to get a short visit pass (BVKS) with the duration of stay in Indonesia during 30 (thirty) days.

THIRD STEP - Duration of Stay
The duration of visiting the Republic of Indonesia can be classified into 4 types:
1. Less than 07 days:
US$ 10 for subject Visa on Arrival
Counting of day in regulation of immigration that is counted 1(one) day from the date as described at arrival stamp. For example: you will live in Indonesia during 7 days, at the time of you arrival at Indonesia on 7 August hence you must leave Indonesia on 13 August.
2. Less than 30 days:
US$ 25 for subject Visa on Arrival
Counting of day in regulation of immigration that is counted 1(one) day from the date as described at arrival stamp. For example: you will live in Indonesia during 30 days, at the time of you arrival at Indonesia on 7 August you must leave Indonesia on 05 September.
3. Less than 60 days:
• If you wish to live in Indonesia up to 60 days, you can apply for a visa at your local embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.
• Application of the visa can be done with or without a sponsor.
More than 60 days:
You have to apply for a visa with a sponsorship and also apply at your local embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.
For those who want to come and stay more than 60 days, it is recommended that they apply for a visa at the Republic of Indonesia Representative Office, depending on the intention, and what activities they will do during their stay in Indonesia. In addition, there must be a sponsor. In order to obtain this visa the following steps has to been followed:
1. Application of the visa can be submitted to the General Directorate of Immigration at Jakarta in this case you will get a Visa Telex that will be delivered to the nearest Indonesian Embassy. The Visa will be given according to the contents of this visa telex.
2. Application of the visa can done by directly visit the Indonesian Embassy
INDEX VISA RELEASED BY KBRI (INDONESIAN EMBASSY):
• INDEX VISA B.211
This visa type of B.211 released by the Republic of Indonesia Representative Office is granted, if the intention of the visit to Indonesia is: holiday / friend visit / family / culture exchange. This type of visa can be extended at the Immigration Office, which is a regional procedure and is covering the stay in Indonesia.
• INDEX VISA B.212
Visa type of B.212 released by the Republic of Indonesia Representation Office is granted, if the intention of the visit to Indonesia is for business, export and import purposes. This type of visa type can be extended at the Immigration office, which is a regional procedure and is covering the stay in Indonesia.
• INDEX VISA D.212
Visa type of D.212 released by the Republic of Indonesia Representation Office is granted, if the intention of the visit to Indonesia is to arrange business or export/import (not to work). The visa is valid for 1 year. A maximum stay in Indonesia is straight 60 days, after that you must exit the country and reenter Indonesia again, you can do this before the visa expires in a year.
• INDEX VISA C.312
Visa type of C.312 will be released by the Republic of Indonesia Representative Office if the intention of the visit to Indonesia is to work, gather together with float equipment (ship) operating in Indonesia.
When entering the Region of Indonesia Republic a stamp will be given by an Immigration Officer for 60 days (B.211 / B.212). With this stamp you can stay in Indonesia for a maximum of 60 days counted from first day of arriving.
To stay longer than 60 days this Visa can be extended per month with a maximum of 4 times, at an immigration office close to the visitor. You can extend this way till the maximum duration time of six months is reached.
Special for Index Visa D.212 (expired time of visa is 1 year)
An Immigration Officer will give you a stamp, which ensures you an uninterruptible stay of maximum 60 days in Indonesia to conduct business activity, after 60 days you must exit the Republic of Indonesia and reenter it again, This can only be done till the expiration date of the visa.
Special for Index Visa C.312
An Immigration Officer will give you a stamp of admission for 7 days. YOU MUST REPORT to the Immigration office within 7 days after arrival, after reporting the Immigration Officer can process the KITAS.

VISA ON ARRIVAL
How to Obtain the "Visa on Arrival" (VoA)
Travelers from the above countries must be in possession of a passport, which is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival and the completed embarkation/disembarkation card they received from their airline. They must also be able to prove they have sufficient funds for their stay in Indonesia.
Arriving travelers with Visa-On-Arrival status have to go first to one of the 'VoA Counters' to pay the appropriate fee and have their passports stamped with the VoA before proceeding to the Immigration Clearance Desk. An official bank is part of the VoA service counters. Payment of visa fees can only be made in US dollar bank notes, Indonesian Rupiah equivalent or by VISA or MASTERCARD.
VISA BEFORE ARRIVAL
Requirement of a “Visa before Arrival” (VbA)
Citizens of countries neither on the VoA nor Visa-Free lists are required to apply for a visa overseas before traveling to Indonesia. Nationals of ALL countries planning to stay for more than 30 days in Indonesia also have to apply for the appropriate visa (tourist, business, social-cultural, etc.) at an overseas Indonesian Consulate or Foreign Mission before traveling to Indonesia.
Only this visa can be extended per month by the immigration office till a maximum of 6 months.
SOCIAL & CULTURE VISA
This visa can be obtained by foreign visitors who wants to stay in Bali / Indonesia, to visit friends of family. A sponsorship from an Indonesian citizen is required.
The Indonesian sponsor needs to supply the following documents to process your Social Visa:
1. Copy of Sponsor’s Identity Card ( KTP )
2. Copy of Sponsor’s Family Register ( KK )
3. Application Letters signed by the Indonesian sponsor.
4. Copy of the sponsor’s Bank Account statement

DUAL CITIZENSHIP FOR CHILDREN OF MIXED MARRIAGES
A. The child who was born on or after the 1 st of August 2006
The child who is born on or after the 1 st of August 2006 automatically becomes an Indonesian citizen. In that case according to the Indonesian Immigration law, the child can apply for a passport of the Republic of Indonesia; however the child must remain being registered at the Indonesia Immigration Office or Representative of the Republic of Indonesia abroad.
The parents /parent need to supply the following documents to process the passport:
A Photocopy of Birth Certificate.
A Photocopy of Marriage Certificate.
A Photocopy of child’s Foreign Passport (if he/she has a foreign passport)

B. The child who was born before the 1 st of August 2006
The child who is born before the 1 st of August 2006 automatically becomes an Indonesian citizen, but the child can apply for Indonesian citizenship by registering. The application has to be written in Indonesian language.
The parent/parents need to supply the following documents to process the passport:
♣ A Photocopy of Birth Certificate that has ratified by official functionary.
♣ A Photocopy of Marriage Certificate.
♣ A Photocopy of ID card or Passport of child’s parents that is still valid and ratified by official functionary or representative of Republic of Indonesia.
♣ A Photocopy sized photographs with red background (4x6 = 4 pcs).
Besides there are some other documents that must applied when:
The parents are divorced: the child who is born from a valid marriage; must enclose photocopy of situation of Marriage Certificate and situation of Divorce Certificate.
One of the parent or both died: Situation of Death Certificate of the child’s parents ratified by official functionary or representative of Republic of Indonesia.
The child’s is adopted: Must enclose photocopy of citation of confession certificate or justice stipulating about child adoption ratified by official functionary.
The child’s is 17 years: Must enclose photocopy of Identity Card of foreigner’s citizen ratified by official functionary.
